On Saturday, May 3 , 2025, the Daniel Barden Mudfest returned to MKJ Farms in Deansboro, NY for its 11th annual celebration of muddy obstacles, music, and community spirit. Riders and runners of all ages tackled the fun (but gritty) course before gathering for a post-run party featuring live music from Wheatus and other regional acts. This year, Mudfest was proudly produced in collaboration with Artist For Action, and all proceeds from the event went directly to Sandy Hook Promise to support their ongoing gun violence prevention work.

Named in memory of Daniel Barden, a kind first grader lost in the 2012 Sandy Hook tragedy, the event raises funds for the Barden Adventure Scholarship and serves as both a tribute and a testament to community resilience. In 2024, Mudfest presented a $25,000 check to Sandy Hook Promise, reinforcing the power of community-driven fundraising and creative partnership.
