Artist For Action® is a coalition of artists, actors, athletes & creators using the power of music & culture to help prevent gun violence, support mental wellness, and build safer, more connected communities. Our goal is to bring knowledge, resources, and action to the national stage through music events and online awareness work.

Artist For Action® was co-founded by Mark Barden, who is also a co-founder of Sandy Hook Promise. Our two organizations are closely aligned, with AFA serving as a creative advocacy partner - amplifying SHP’s proven prevention programs through concerts, campaigns, and cultural engagement.

Gun violence can be prevented through education, reasonable bi-partisan policy, safe storage & gun handling, and learning to identify early warning signs. But it can only happen when we work together. Our mission is to bring these solutions to the forefront of public awareness, so that we can make a real difference - together.

You can take action by donating, volunteering, hosting a prevention program, or using your platform to spread the message. Another great way to get involved is to educate yourself and others on the issues of gun violence, mental health and social isolation. No. While our coalition is led by artists and creators, anyone who believes in the mission can join - whether you're a fan, organizer, educator, or someone looking to make a difference.

No. Our focus is on preventative work and reasonable, bi-partisan solutions, not on banning guns.

Donations support the life-saving work of Sandy Hook Promise, including programs like Know the Signs, which teaches students and adults how to identify warning signs and intervene before violence occurs.

We work with artists, partners, and venues to create moments that matter—from festival stages and tour stops to dinners, panels, school programs, and online campaigns. All of our activations are designed to raise awareness, build community, and move people to take action.
