Passion Pit

Formed in 2007 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Passion Pit began as a Valentine's Day gift: a handful of songs frontman Michael Angelakos wrote and recorded for his then-girlfriend while studying at Emerson College. Those tracks became the 2008 EP Chunk of Change, led by the breakout single "Sleepyhead," and landed the band a deal with Frenchkiss Records. Their 2009 debut album Manners introduced anthems like "The Reeling" and "Little Secrets," cementing them as one of the defining indie pop acts of their era.

The band's 2012 follow-up Gossamer debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 on the strength of the single "Take a Walk," and they've since released Kindred (2015) and Tremendous Sea of Love (2017), the latter of which Angelakos self-released, with proceeds donated to a Cambridge-based psychiatric research institution. Angelakos has long been open about living with bipolar disorder and founded The Wishart Group, an organization devoted to supporting musicians through legal, educational, and mental health resources. With four studio albums, festival sets at Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, and Bonnaroo, and a 15th anniversary vinyl reissue of Manners in 2024, Passion Pit continues to tour and write music that turns hard feelings into something you can dance to
