ARTIST FOR ACTION INVOLVEMENT

Norah Jones

Born in New York City and raised in Grapevine, Texas, Norah Jones is the daughter of Indian sitar icon Ravi Shankar and American concert producer Sue Jones. After studying jazz piano at the University of North Texas, she returned to New York in 1999 and signed to legendary jazz label Blue Note Records. Her 2002 debut, Come Away with Me, sold over 27 million copies worldwide and earned her five Grammy Awards in a single night, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best New Artist. It remains the highest-selling debut studio album by a solo artist of the 21st century.

In the years since, Jones has released nine studio albums, sold more than 53 million records globally, and collected ten Grammy wins, most recently for her 2024 record Visions, which took home Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. Her catalog moves freely across jazz, country, folk, soul, and pop, reflecting a restless curiosity that has led to collaborations with Willie Nelson, Ray Charles, Outkast, Foo Fighters, Herbie Hancock, Keith Richards, and her half-sister Anoushka Shankar. She also fronts the country band The Little Willies and the trio Puss n Boots, and hosts the podcast Norah Jones Is Playing Along, where she invites musicians of all kinds into the studio for impromptu sessions.
