Dave Stewart

With a career spanning four decades and over 100M album sales worldwide, award-winning singer, songwriter, musician, producer, innovator and Eurythmics co-founder Dave Stewart is among the most respected and accomplished talents in popular music history. His wide-ranging work has earned Stewart a long list of prestigious honours, including over fifty ASCAP and BMI Awards, four Ivor Novello Awards for “Best Songwriter,” four BRIT Awards for “Best Producer” (including a Lifetime Achievement Award), a Golden Globe Award, and a GRAMMY® Award. “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)” by Eurythmics was recently inducted into the GRAMMY Hall of Fame® and U.S. Library of Congress National Recording Registry, in recognition of its qualitative and historical significance. Dave Stewart and Annie Lennox were among the 2020 inductees into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Also in 2022, with an inspired induction by U2’s The Edge, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation welcomed Eurythmics as inductees for their profound impact on music. At both ceremonies, Eurythmics brought the house down with their transcendent performances.

Stewart has been involved in many charitable endeavours throughout his career, including coming up with the concept of 46664 campaign for Nelson Mandela by turning his prisoner number into a telephone number. Dave then went on to write songs with Paul McCartney, Queen, Joe Strummer and others, which were only available by dialling the number, raising huge sums for the cause via the phone companies. He went on to create the biggest concert in African history, bringing together Beyonce, Peter Gabriel Bono and The Edge and many more, to raise money in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Africa.

With his Eurythmics partner Annie Lennox, Dave embarked on The Peace Tour in 1999. All profits from the tour (including ticket sales, merchandise and live DVD) were donated to Amnesty International and Greenpeace.. He is also seminal in the Stand Up To Cancer movement, writing the anthem for the charity and taking the role of musical director of the 2010 US TV special, which raised more than a staggering $80 million. He also supports World Central Kitchen (set up to feed victims of natural disasters and war zones) and Peace One Day, a non profit organisation providing a globally shared date for humanity to commit to peace, Stewart is an ambassador for the movement and created its first concert event 25 years ago. This year Peace One Day celebrates it’s 25th anniversary this year with a multi artist concert at London’s OVO Wembley Arena on September 21st where Stewart will perform alongside an array of international artists.

In 2022 Dave Stewart released a critically acclaimed triple album vinyl boxset, Ebony McQueen, one of the most ambitious and autobiographical works of his remarkable life and landmark career; an exhilarating, original musical fable about music, young manhood, and finding hard-earned wisdom and true love with the girl next door. Work on the eponymous musical feature film is due to start shortly, with songs by Dave Stewart, score by Stewart and BAFTA, GRAMMY and Oscar winner A.R Rahman and direction by Shekar Kapur (Elizabeth, What’s Love Got To Do With It?).

In 2023-2024 Dave took his Dave Stewart Eurythmics shows on the road in the UK, Europe and US. Accompanied by his band of virtuoso female musicians, including vocalist Vanessa Amorosi, the gigs have received huge critical acclaim, with more shows taking place in 2025.

On April 12 2025 Dave Stewart released DAVE DOES DYLAN, a 14-song homage to Bob Dylan. The album had a limited-edition vinyl release for Record Store Day on April 12th and will be available at indie record stores via Surfdog Records, with a full DSP release in July 2025.
